Reports differ seriously? I will show you WHY this happens and HOW to FIX it permanently!

Struggling with Reports?

Other problems with your systems?

This briefing will help you understand and fix your reporting issues - for good

How to Unlock Your Captive Data

How many of these apply to you?

  • Different reports from different departments don't agree
  • Different reports within a department don't match up
  • Everybody has THEIR version of the truth in spreadsheets and satellite systems
  • It takes hours, days or even weeks to get the information you need.  Sometimes, you don't get it at all
  • The software vendors and implementers have failed to live up to their promises
  • Your expensive system simply does NOT meet your expectations
  • Still spending large sums on consultants and do NOT understand why they should still be involved?

In short you are frustrated with your software investment and do not know which way to turn.

This is where I come in -- my name is Dr. James Robertson.  I've been involved in the application of computers in business for over 30 years and have massive experience in fixing failed and failing systems.  My aim has always been to

bring engineering disciplines to the IT industry

Join me on Friday 27th November for a half-day Executive Briefing

I'll share with you my decades of experience in engineering, strategy and IT.  In just a few hours you will learn -

  • Why dysfunctional information systems are so rife
  • How to resolve and rectify these problems - for good
  • 7 steps you can take to ease the pain - immediately
  • The amazing value that is unlocked, once you've fixed your system.

Here are just a few of the truths we'll address about current business information systems:

  1. The big software companies and implementers do not know how to best implement their own systems
  2. There is no incentive for them to do the job properly.  Their approach is simply a license to print money
  3. Sloppy configuration can cost your organization in terms of cash, lost opportunities and serious inefficiency
  4. Strategic Engineered Precision Configuration is a concept that can make a massive positive difference to any organisation

I'll help you understand these and many more key issues.

Here are the briefing details:

Date and Time --  Friday 27th November 9.00 - 13.30

Venue - Northampton Chamber of Commerce, Waterside House, 8 Waterside Way, Northampton, NN4 7XD, UK.  Parking is available.

All evidence indicates that the established players do NOT know how to deliver stable, reliable high value solutions that WORK.

There HAS to be a better way!

This website provides information relating to that way with a large collection of white papers, presentations, standards documents, etc that you can use to start bringing the situation under control

We also offer high level advisory services with regard to the application of the principles advocated on this website

We offer an ENGINEERING APPROACH to addressing these issues

Click here to read more about the Engineering Approach

By Engineering I mean the formal, structured, highly disciplined, highly systematic, highly practical approach that consistently delivers results in ALL areas of human endeavor where formally trained and certified engineers are the ONLY practitioners permitted to operate -- think large buildings, factories, motor vehicles, aircraft -- highly complex systems that work at a level that we take it for granted that they WILL work and where failure is all but unthinkable and, when it happens, attracts immediate public attention and rigorous investigation directed at ensuring that such failures are prevented in the future -- in fact, everything that the management consulting industry that implements complex software systems is NOT

This approach is discussed further on the Engineering Approach page.

Book -- The Critical Factors for Information Technology Investment Success

In 2003 I undertook an in-depth analysis of all the information and experience that I had gathered with regard to the factors giving rise to Business Information System failure including ERP and general IT and classified this information into a number of categories including "The Factors Causing Failure" and "The Critical Factors for Success" based on this I developed a two day Course "The Critical Factors for Information Technology Investment Success" which is still offered today.

Based on this I wrote the book of the same name, which is available in electronic form here for download:
